How and when to apply for a Reception place

When can you apply for a Reception place for September? 
  

If you would like to apply for a space at Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School for a child starting Reception in September 2027, you will need to make a formal application to Essex County Council for a school place.

The application period runs between between November and January each year.

Parents can apply via the website www.essex.gov.uk/admissions where you will find lots of useful information.

All applications received after the January deadline will be treated as late and will only be processed after all on-time applications. You are less likely to get a place at one of your preferred schools if you apply late.

Offers will be sent to online applicants by Essex County Council via email on 16 April 2025.

 

From 16 April 2026, if you applied online, you can log into your account to see your allocation.
